Mary, This information is straight from the Madison County History Book....
In 1837 the family moved to "just below the falls of the Brazos River in Robertson County......The Hollis family then moved to about where the town of Calvert is now.(Brazos Co?) Then the Hollises moved to Montgomery Co near...Danville. (1841) ...in 1842 Wm David left his family to serve his country. Then they moved to the (Walker Co) Winter's Settlement...then to Huntsville. The family then moved to Madison Co in 1855 to a community which was later named Hollis. (Madison County began in 1854)

Thomas Sidney Hollis was the father of my former neighbor Loyce Hollis Taylor may she rest in peace.

Maybe this will help you find your Susan E Hollis Batson.
