There is no Cross Cemetery in Madison Co. There is one in Grimes Co., 1/4 mi. west of Hwy 39 on CR 102. Hugh W. Byrne, 13 Oct 1873-15 Jun 1966 and Willie L. Byrne, 7 May 1882-4 Aug 1958 are buried there. John M. Able, 1834-1901, is buried at the Byrn-Burns Cemetery in Grimes Co.

Hugh Wilson Byrne
Funeral services for Hugh Wilson Byrne were held at Cross Free Will Baptist Church June 16 at 2:30 p.m. Mr. Byrne died in Houston June 15 at the age of 92. He was born in Grimes Co. Oct 13, 1873. Mr. Byrne is survived by six sons,
W. B. Byrne of North Zulch, B. D. Byrne, C. C. Byrne, W. F. Byrne, L. L. Byrne and H. B. Byrne, all of Houston; two daughters, Mrs. W. D. Wrinkle of Duncanville and Mrs. H. J. Conaway of Austin, 23 grandchildren and 29 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. The Rev. Charley Thompson of Pasadena conducted the funeral services.
Interment was in the Cross Cemetery under the direction of the Riddle Funeral Home. Pallbearers were grandsons.
