Questions about early Lubbock
Posted by: June Bills (ID *****8687) Date: February 27, 2012 at 15:01:02

I am on a project for my family writting about my early years and I wonder if anyone remembers when streets in Lubbock were renamed. I know some have been because where I lived in Jr. High the street does not exist there anymore and I have been unable to recognize the house. My dad was a builder and he built houses in the Arnett Benson area. I rode the city bus to Pioneer park and walked to the only Lubbock Jr. High we had at that time. I went in the morning and the students that would attend the new O.L. Slaton came in the afternoon. They were building a new Jr. High for the O.L. Slaton students. I still have one of my report cards for that and it does have Lubbock Jr. High.

Also do you remeber when the name for the Arcadia Theater on Ave. H. was changed to State theater. This will be enough for now. Hope to find help. Thanks, June
