John Clark was born 1823/24? in Georgia?. He was married to Jane Fowler. (he may have had a previous wife) They lived in San Saba,Texas in the 1860's where she died. He was married the 2nd time to Sarah Jane Tow Miller and they lived in Llano for a time. He died from 1880 but before Dec 1884, but I cant find any info on his death. I think he was the sheriff of Mason during the HooDoo War because He lived in Mason County about 1875 per a letter from his son , Robert E. Lee Clark, who was later tax collector in Mason Co.Texas. In the 1880 census he was in Burnet. Rumor has it that he and his wife were murdered and left 7 orphans. Does anyone know who his parents, brothers, or sisters are? Any information about his death, however remote , would certainly be appreciated since I have exhausted all my researches. Please feel free to email me directly.
