Nancy,

I don't see any Llano County connections but I do see some records that are a likely hit.

In the 1920 Census for Fort Worth, Tarrant County (E. D. 150) I see a Clara McCanless, age 28 (born about 1892) with husband W. P. McCanless, age 36. Children include Estelle (age 5, born abt 1915), James Willard (age 2 2/12, born 1917-18), and Florence (age 5/12, born early 1920 or late 1919). Also in this household was a Napoleon McCanless, age 70 and widowed, as the head of household's father.

In 1930 I see them again:
William P. McCanless M 51 laborer, oil refinery
Clara F 38
Florine F 10
James W M 13
Amos S. M 7
Napoleon B. M 70 (listed as 70 in both 1920 and 1930!)

Going back to 1910, in Comanche County, Oklahoma (this was about the time of the early oil boom in Oklahoma):

McCanless Willie P M 31
Clara V F 18

Census data indicates they were married around 1908 or 1909, when Clara was 16.

You may want to follow up with genealogists in Tarrant County to find more.
