Stephen

Andrew died in West Liberty of Disease on March 1, 1865 according to his Civil War Records

It took us 10 years to find his death date and place

I sent to Hillsboro Confederate research center in 2004 for his Civil War Records the last card listed he was sick in a hospital in Feb 1865 in Houston

Well last summer my cousin upon sending for another family members records decided to request andrew's for himself he said he just knew he was going to get the same thing i had gotten but said what the heck and did it anyway

Well imagine the shock when in his was another regimental return card I did not recieve.

He immediately sent it to me and I ordered a Marker
from the Veterans Administration for Andrew

If this had been sent to me it would of saved us another 2 years of searching for his final resting place and date.

It was approved and recieved in Oct 2007
the marker is being engraved with Andrew's wife and kids names and dates on the back and on March 15m 2008 at Antioch Cem in Buna we are having a Civil War Cemerony and Marker Dedication for Andrew

Why the VA put it on thier website this way I dont know but will do everything in my power to have it fixed to read that only his stone is in Antioch Cem not his body

His actually burial place according to family tradition passed down many generations was they buried him where he died and his body was not brought back to Buna to rest.
