Seeking info re: Morgan Calvin Rye (1846-1929), CSA vet and notorious rounder for whom Rye, TX in Liberty County is named. Spent several years in Huntsville on a state-paid vacation after 1880 for helping conduct a "neck tie party" for a couple of cowboys in Polk Co. in 1877. His mother, Joanah Rye Richardson was my g.g.g.grandmother. Any info would be appreciated.
