Sorry for the long response. I am really busy. There shouldn't be any James Jarrod McCarty in Leon county. James "Jarrod" McCarty lived in Virginia. James McCarty was the father of John McCarty, born in the 1770s. I am hearing the 'Jarrod' was a different person altogether. I have a James McCarty, who was an uncle born in 1854. He was born in Sullivan County, Indiana. He moved after 1870 with his parents towards Texas, but settled in Little Rock, Arkansas area, where he married his first wife Matilda Mounce, and had sons John William and Samuel. He moved to Leon County after the death of Matilda to rejoin family. He then Married Mildred Nichols. They had sons James Benjamin and Louis Calvin McCarty. James and Mildred separated, and James married his brother Wesley's widow, and raised his children in Leon County, Texas.
