WALKER & GRAY FAMILIES OF LEON COUNTY

Researching family of John WALKER, born c1821 in Clarksville, Montgomery Co Tenn. He and family were listed in Leon Co in the l870 census....wife Mary and three sons. Mary was 2nd wife...first wife was Ann?.

Thomas S. Walker, b1845 in Tenn.
William James Walker, b1847 in Tenn.
Joseph Allen Walker, b1854 in Texas.

Thomas and William Walker married two sisters...Thomas to Mary Texana GRAY and William to Virginia GRAY. Both couples are buried in the Buffalo Cemetery.

Parents of the GRAY sisters were Thomas Evans GRAY and Mary KULBETH. Joseph Walker married Susan KULBETH, sister of Mary KULBETH GRAY. Mary and Susan KULBETH are writer's great aunts.

In the census of Leon Co l870, John Walker and family were living in the household of Mary E. MARTIN, b1826 in GA. The MARTIN family came to Texas in the l860s from Randolph Co Alabama. Mary Martin is writer's Great Grandmother. Will exchange information on any of the listed families.
