Thanks, I hadn't seen this.

This appears to be list of children eligible for pubic (poor) school, since it lists school age children and their father. I've seen similar lists for Georgia.

This might list families when they moved into the county, since this is 1877 list, and this family was still in Fayette in 1876 per tax list.

Don't know what "Brunes" is -- maybe a community in Lavaca.

These are 4 of the children of Johann (John) Deitrich Niemeyer and wife Marie Elisa ___, who came from Oldenburg, Germany in Dec. 1868. These first came to Fayette Co, and then went to Lavaca.

The children on this list are:
Johann Hinrich/Heinrich (John Henry) Niemeyer (b. about 1862, Germany)
Friedrich George Niemeyer (1865, Germany)
Heinrich Gerhard Niemeyer (1867, Germany)
Heinrich (Henry) Niemeyer (1871, Fayette Co, Tx)
