I am looking for the parents of John Sidney Templeton, Sarah Frances King, and JS Martin. These people lived in Lavaca County, and De Witt County, TX.
John Sidney Templeton born 1832 Texas died unknown
married Sarah Frances King b 1846 TX d after 1930 possibly in Stonewall County, Texas
Children were:
1. Sidney Annis Templeton b 1 Sep 1886, Lavaca County, Texas d 2 Aug 1966 San
Saba County, TX
2. Effie Lee Templeton b Hochheim, De Witt County, Texas
3. E. Robert Templeton b 1894 Texas
There may be more children. This is all I have found so far.
1. Sidney Annis Templeton married Mary Elizabeth (Mamie) Martin (1884 -1909)
Their child was
Willard Franklin Templeton b 23 Mar 1908 San Saba County, TX (lived in Brady
McCulloch County)
Sidney Annis Templeton married Mary Alice ? (1888-1931)
Children were:
Clayton Templeton
Ruthie Templeton
John D Templeton
2. Effie Lee Templeton married John W Martin
Children were:
Leonard Martin b 1808 or 1809 Texas
Rudolph Martin b 1910 McCulloch County, Texas
John D Martin b 1918 Texas
After divorce Effie Lee Templeton married Millard Childress
Children were:
Richard Childress (lived in Stonewall County, TX in 1930)
Francis Childress
Millard Childress Jr
3. E Robert Templeton married Ruby E “
Children were:
Estelene b 1921 TX (lived in Stonewall County, TX in 1930)
Mable E b 1913 TX (married N Herbert Whitehorn)
JS Martin b 25 Nov 1853 Texas died 24 Jan 1895 Lavaca County, Texas
Wife Sarah Elizabeth Henry b 9 Nov 1853 Brazoria County or Lavaca County, TX d 23
Feb 1936, buried in San Saba or Lampasas County (daughter of Wiley Henry & Mary
Ann Rowe of Lavaca County, Texas)
Children were:
Laura L Martin b 6 Oct 1876 (married Amos Haynes) d 1971 buried at Bend Cemetery
Mary Elizabeth (Mamie) Martin b 12 Sep 1884 TX d 22 Mar 1909 (who married
Sidney Annis Templeton) buried in Richland Springs Cemetery, San Saba County,
Texas
John W (or R) Martin b 23 Sep 1878 TX who married Effie Lee Templeton and was
divorced
Bert (Alberto ?) Martin b 11 Sep 1891 TX who married Brittie Lee Foster
Allie Martin who married Lonnie Gilbreath
Most of these people ended up around San Saba, McCulloch, and Stonewall Counties, TX.
I can’t find any of these families from 1860-1910, except for Sarah Henry’s parents in the 1850, 1860, 1870 & 1880 census. Anyone who could fill in the gaps, it would be appreciated.
