Researching William B. Nichols (born 1792, VA) and his family. He was in 1850 Harrison Co., MS with William B. Jr. (12), Virginia A. (11), Rebecca (9), Richard B. (7), John (5), and Alexander B. (3) (kids born MS).
....One of these girls may be Sophronia Adalaide Nichols (born Nov. 1840), who is on later census with Wlm. B's second family.
....Although all these 6 children would have come to Texas with their father between 1850-52, I've only found my Richard B. Nichols (1870 Lavaca census), and Alexander B. Nichols (in Memphis, TN in 1886, and 1910 census)
William B. Nichols may be the William Nichols who was in 1840 Washington Co, MS, and wife (name unknown) and 2 children.
He was in Fayette Co, Tx. by 1852, and married there in 1855 to Marie E. Tadlock (former Mrs. Sweet). They went to Lavaca Co, Tx. by about 1860, and had 3 children: Virginia B. "Jennie" (1856), Victoria B. (1859), and Norman Henry (1863). (see earlier posting by Ileine Nichols Burke)
