Recently found G. W. Short on the 1890 Oklahoma Indian Territory Census. He is listed as Washington Short (noted that he was born in Missouri), he is married to Sarah Short (born in Texas about 1854), with their daughter Nellie (born in 1877 in Indian Territory), Henry (Joseph Henry) born in 1884 in Indian Territory, and Haley born in 1887 in Indian Territory.

I have since found that George Washington Short was found in Montague Co., TX in the late 1870's and was returned to Lampasas for trial. I do not know the result of that trial. A Sarah Short and her daughter Nellie are listed on the Montague Co., TX 1880 census. Sarah is working as a cook and it is noted that she is married. I have not been able to find out what happened to G.W., Sarah or Nellie after this date. Henry married Lura Clark and lived in Oklahoma and then Texas. Haley married and stayed in Oklahoma.
