Hi Kim, and thanks a lot, for the kind words. Yes, I do believe your Felix took his name from the slave owner, who was named Felix Logan. I helped one of my friends do her family tree, and it was a wealth of info we gathered. It is very hard to trace African families, because their names were not docuemented many times. The same for my family, as they were Native American. Also, they did not have last names, so, many did take their owners names. I also did see some of the Logan family that had married the Rutherford family in NC. Also, that would be one of the reasons for being mulutto. My ggggrandmother was also a slave. She was Native American. Her owner was very mean to her, and she had a bad scare on her forehead, where she was hit. She never learned to read or write, because they would not let her. She was one of the reasons I started doing my family tree so many years ago. God bless her. I will try and see what I can find to help you. I know you have a hard road to follow. wishing you lots of luck. Vidia
