Col Nidever Wagon Train

Seeking info on a wagon train of settlers lead by a Col Nidever who moved into Texas around 1840. My ancestor's bio states that he was born in 1822, joined Col Nidever wagon train as a teamster at the age of 18 and crossed the muddy waters of the red river into Texas where he settled in Red river co and later was Lamar co. I found brief info on a George Nidever who traveled thru Texas in the 1830s as a fur trader but nothing on a wagon train or Col Nidever. Thanks for any help.
