15 year brick wall....!
I am searching for the death date and/or obituary of my mother's 1st cousin, Mrs Ellen [Key] Armour Johnson born abt 1903 Texas. Ellen was the daughter of John Henry Key & Hadie Alice [Nunnelee] and sister of William Hill Key and Mary Newell [Key] Watson (Mrs J.J.).
Her brother Bill's 1977 obituary named her as "Mrs J.R. Johnson of Houston, Texas". Before my mother died she told me she was pretty sure that Ellen was living with her daughter in law in Kerrville, Texas when she died but she could have died in Houston....?
Ellen's son, Wayne Armour, died 1972 in Houston, Texas. His obituary named a brother James Armour+son John Armour+daughter Mrs Lynne Follmar+daughter Mrs Lanie Ebelt, grandson Scott Follmar+grandson Mark Follmar (all of Houston, Texas) and a daughter Mrs Linda King of Arlington, Texas. Pallbearers were Ronald Follmar, Lou King, Bruce Ebelt, Bill Martin, Travis Pinkerton, and Tom Watson (was he a son of Ellen's sister Newell?). The obituary did not name his mother or step-father but unless her brother Bill's wife didn't know Ellen had died, then Ellen died after 1977.....? Bill had 1 child who knew very little about her father's sisters or their children as they lived in far north Texas.
I realize this is a needle in a haystack...but with only husband's names "J.R. Johnson" and "J.J. Watson", I have struck out everywhere because I just don't have enough information to make a good search.
I would so deeply appreciate Ellen's death date, burial locale, or where I might write to locate her obituary. I am our Nunnelee Family Historian and cannot bear that Great-Aunt Hadie's daughters and their descendants are being left out of our Family Tree as I knew Aunt Hadie personally but she died when I was 17 and it never occurred to me (then) that she had grown children.
