I am familiar with Jesus Ayala of Kerr County , Texas. This guy was my grandmother's uncle. Jesus Ayala and his brothers , Simon and Martin , came to Kerr County to work as cowboys for Captain Charles A. Schreiner. They helped dive his cattle up north to Kansas. They arrived in Kerr County in late 1870. In 1871 , Jesus married, Jennie Michon , the daughter of Dominique Michon. The Michon Family was from France. The Michons appear in the 1870 Kerr County Census. By 1890, Jesus and Jennie had
the following children : Frances , Juan G., Rettie J., Silvestre , Lucy, Otelia , Gus and Lena. Jesus was born on Sept 1852 in Monterrey, Mexico. His parents were Juan and Territa Ayala. Jesus died in 1913.
This other brothers were Simon, Martin, Felipe, Luis, Juan, Pablo, Miguel, Ignacio, and Juanita ( Villanueva.) This family were the first Mexicans to settle in Kerr County.
The present Mexican American Community of Kerrville, Texas grew from this Family.
