Hello Sharon!
A follow up on my message last night:
Thank you soooo much for telling me about UsGenWeb. Very nice site, and I've much more to explore there. I have been exploring the Find-A-Grave website and contributed a few items to it... It is also a nice website for helping gebealogists.
While living in Chicago, Illinois years ago, I corresponded with a Walter Herrin (Jr) who told me the Kendall County Clerk was his daughter-in-law. Walter and I weren't sure, but we believed his father was a nephew of my great-grandfather Isaac Francis Herrin (1833-1886)... Walter lived in Boerne and made charcoal for a living. I purchased a copy of Kendall County's tombstone inventories in the 198O's and a copy of GENEALOGICAL ABSTRACTIONS FROM KENDALL Co, TX PROBATE RECORDS in 1990... My g-granddad's name was misspelled J.F. Herrin in their digests and I had them correct it to Isaac F. and I noted on the UsGenWEb site they have it correct. By the way, my great-great grandmother married an Abram Moore in or near Blanco, Texas... They were associated in some way with the Menger Hotel in San Antionio.... I was told the old hotel still stands.
They are really nice people there in Kendall county.... Then too, most Texans are. Again, Thanks. Dave.
