Myers, Grossman and Snyder Mystery

This is what Sherlock Holmes would call a "three-pipe problem".

I posted it on both Kaufman County boards
http://boards.ancestry.com/localities.northam.usa.states.texas.counties.kaufman/mb.ashx
http://genforum.genealogy.com/tx/kaufman/

Whichever one you are reading, please check the other one before you spend time answering. I'd hate to have some kind-hearted, gracious genealogist duplicate another's efforts.

I have lady whose given names were Eva Della, who married Darius H Myers in Kaufman County on 12 Dec 1888, with two possible surnames; Grossman and Snyder. If you could help unravel the mystery, I would appreciate it.

In chronological order, I have these records.
(I edited some for brevity.)
(The Snyders use "Snider" once in a while.)

1870, Waddams Twp, Stephenson, Illinois:

Grossman, David, 32, Penn
Grossman, Harriet, 28, Penn
Grossman, Hannah, 13, Ill
Grossman, Henry E, 6, Ill
Grossman,_Eva_C,_3,_Ill ***

1880, Lawrence, Kaufman, Texas:

Grossman, David, 43, head, Penn, Penn, Penn, farmer
Grossman, Hattie C, 39, wife, Penn, Penn, Penn
Grossman,_E._Della,_14,_Niece,_Ill,_Penn,_Penn ***
Snyder, Henry E, 17, Nephew, Ill, Penn, Penn
Snyder, Charles, 76, FatherL, Widower, Penn, Penn, Penn

12 Dec 1888, Kaufman, Texas; marriage record:
Groom: D. H. Myers
Bride: Della Grossman

(Eva Della is Myers in 1900, 1910 and 1920.)

31 Dec 1928: Death record of "Mrs. D. H. Myers"
Death place: Terrell, Kaufman, Texas
Father: Snider, of Illinois
Informant: Chas. Snyder. (No relation given, but Darius and Eva Della had a son Charles.)

10 Jul 1931: Death record of Darius and Eva Della's daughter, Ada Morphew
Father's Name: D. H. Myers
Mother's Name: Eva Della Groosman

Henry Snyder, b. 1863, who we saw in 1870 and 1880, is with his uncle David Grossman in 1900 and 1910, too. He dies in 1911. His death certificate, with informant David Grossman, says Henry's father was David Snyder.

So - what is Eva Della's maiden name? The possibilities I can think of are:

1a) David Grossman had a brother, "Unknown" Grossman, who died, AND his wife Harriet had a brother, David Snyder, who died. David and Harriet took in both orphans.

1b) Same as 1a, with one change; David and Hariett legally adopt Eva Della but not Henry.

2) Henry and Eva Della are brother and sister, children of Harriet's brother, David Snyder. David and Harriet took them in when they were very young. Eva Della grew up using "Grossman" as a surname. The 1870 enumerator gave both children the wrong surname, and the 1880 enumerator gave Eva Della the wrong one, but got Henry right. Charles Myers remembered his grandfather, Charles Snyder, when he gave the information for his mother's death certificate. Whoever gave the information for Ada Morphew's death certificate didn't remember.

3) None of the above.
