The Old Mill Lake of Kaufman County

I have a story written by a lady about her grandmother that she interviewed for a high school class project. The story mentions that her grandmother came to Kaufman County, TX about 1883 from De Kalb Co., TN. A part of the story tells about her grandmother and other women in the community meeting at The Old Mill Lake to do their clothes washing. The community was at or near the Ashworth Cemetery, and at the time was probably known as the Ashworth Community. This community was very near Cedar Creek that runs through the eastern part of Kaufman County.

I've been attempting to find the location of the Old Mill Lake but without any luck. I suspect that at one time there was a lake created on Cedar Creek to operate a grist mill (or some other type of mill). But by the time the women were using the lake for washing, the mill had been removed and, at the time, was simply referred to as The Old Mill Lake. I also suspect that the lake was probably still in existence around 1900.

If anyone has any information regarding the location, or other stories, about The Old Mill Lake, I would appreciate hearing about it.
