I have a Samuel Thompson born 1849 in Tennessee. I do not know who his Wife was. His Parents were James Thompson born 1822 Alabama and Perimty Jane Elzey born 1826 Tennessee, she was called Jane. I think these are the J.M. Thompson and Jane Thompson buried in Baker cemetery in Kaufman County. I just found this today,so am still researching it. James and Jane had son William S. born 1846 Tennessee,Samuel,Josiah born 1854 Mississippi,James D. born 1856 Mississippi,Elizabeth D. born 1859 Mississippi,Charles born 1862 Mississippi and Lafayette born 1869 Mississippi. Nearly all the names above match the Thompsons buried in Baker cemetery. In 1900 census Kaufman County there is a James Thompson living with his son J.L.Thompson. Jane is not found, but accourding to Baker cemetery she died in 1897. If you think this is the family you are searching for contact me at
