Thank you Jerry, for your reply to my query on John Turner.
The Turner I am searching for was b. 1836, Green Co.N.C.
He was in the Civil War from AR. after the war was over he went to Kaufman Co.TX where he lived for 42 years, then in 1909, he applied for a c/w pension.
I sent to Austin for his app. papers. Kaufman Co. has the same pension # as I have from his, given to another c/w veteran who was with the 20th.TX Cav.
I can find no records on my Turner who was living in Kaufman Co for 42 years. I believe he died there, but they have no records.
His pension was approved Aug.31,1909. But none of it was ever recieved by him, according to Texas State Archives.
Thanks for your reply.
alice
