I am looking for information on L.S Owings born 1820 in Tennessee. Him and Thomas Ruckman founded the town of Helena, Texas in Karnes County. Who were his parents? Did he have any brothers and sisters? I know where he is buried and where his grave is. It is unmarked. I have a book that kind of tells about him, but nothing about his family and father back than that.
He married Helen Marr Swisher on January 05, 1852 in Ellis, Texas. The town Helena in Karnes County, Texas is named in Honor of L. S. Owings wife Helen.
