In the early 1900s' there was a rooming house in Hobson run by my g-g-grandparents, Wilhelm (William) & Bertha (Bettie) Kohleffel. I have a copy of a photo of her standing on the porch holding a skillet and spoon, but all it shows behind her is the front door. (The rooming house was torn down years ago.) I'd like to know if anyone out there has a photo of the entire building. If so, I'd sure like a photocopy of it! I'll happily repay for copy & postage.
Karnes County will celebrate it's SesquiCentennial in May of this year and I'd like to get info on this family
to add to the displays they already have. I have their birth, marriage and dates, but I'm looking for info on what they were like as persons of the community. He was born in Ross Prairie/Colorado County/ Texas and she
came over from Prussia. (Now Germany.) Any other photos or info on them would be greatly appreciated.
I know they had the roming house as late as 1910 as I found ont he census records. He died in 1915, but I don't know if she continued to run it after his or not. She died in Gonzales County in 1933. They are both buried in the Karnes City Cemetery. (You'd have to go by the cemetery map because there are no longer markers for them there.)
Let me hear from y'all soon!
