CLARK - 1915 in or around Hamlin

The story goes that Nicholas Clark left Mississippi after the Civil War for Texas, leaving his family behind. He was never heard from again, except we have some sketchy stories that are hard to unravel, but lead us to believe that his only son Thomas Howard went to Hamlin TX to see an uncle (brother's of Nicholas were Johnson, John, Thomas) to see if he could find out about his daddy (we would have to assume he had reason to believe his daddy was out there or the uncle knew something to make the long trip from MS to TX since Thomas Howard had a very large family to take care of). The other story leads us to believe that Thomas Howard Clark had a brother (possibly from another marriage of Nicholas after he left his family in MS). If there are any Clark relatives in or around Hamlin, please advise so possibly we can unravel this piece of family history from the late 1800s.
