Dixie,
I checked the Abilene Public library and they had the daily paper back to about 1919 and a weekly back to 1886; however, there was no mention of Jones County obituaries or even death notices. Although Anson is the County Seat, Stamford is more likely to have some archived newspapers. Suggest you go to the Jones County Web Site (GenWeb) and put a request for someone to lookup the obituary. Then go to the Genforum Jones County message board and do the same thing.
