In case anyone is interested in the information that I had promised, I have recovered my Mexican briefcase. It was unfortunately soaked during a rainstorm while construction was being done on the building in which it was stored. However, the document alluded to is still quite legible, though warped and mouldy. But the time period covered therein is about 1879 to 1883. The First Baptist Church was founded in 1880.
