Sir , I don't know if I'm at the right place but a friend of mine is the owner of the 1st infantry division museum at Colleville-Sur-Mer in Normandy France, near Omaha Beach,Mr Pierre Louis Gosselin who's living over there , he showed me a troops bag with a name and serial number . The name of the Private was Joe D.Stewart ,serial number 38066139,following found information he enroled at Fort Bliss on March 10th 1941,grade: Pvt , branche:Branche Immaterial -Warrant Officer, he was born in Texas in 1911,lived in Texas at Jones county. We don't know what his unit was but he was in Normandy 60 years ago. His bag was found in the area round Omaha Beach. We are trying to locate this Normandy veteran and if it's possible we may contact him , it would be so fine to meet a man that made history. God bless,America . Mark Weygantt Brussel /Belgium PS: I'm a Belgian Policeman trying to help out a friend, most sites I've found are paying sites, the only thing we want to know is: Is our veteran still a live ? If he is were does he lives ? If not when did he pass away ?
Are he or his relatives contactable?
