You can get a copy of the birth certificate from Jones County (Jones County Clerk, P.O. Box 552,Anson, TX 79501 or from the State of Texas (see: www/vitalrec.com/tx.html ). Unless it has increased, the cost is $11.00 from either source but I suspect the county would respond much quicker. If you live within a reasonable distance it might be worthwhile to visit the Jones County Courthouse. Non-certified birth and death certificates are sometimes available for as little as $1.00.

Besides being the TXGenWeb County Coordinator for Jones County ( www.rootsweb.com/~txjones ), I also am the coordinator for Taylor County, ( www.rootsweb.com/~txtaylor ). I mention this because of the "Cope Cemetery" in south Taylor County. You will find a burial list on the Taylor County website.
