Patterson, 1890, Jones County

In my father's family (Hunt), two sisters, who were married to two Patterson brothers, moved from Arkansas to Anson, Jones County, about 1888. They subsequently left Anson about 1893 and settled in Hartshorne, I.T. (Oklahoma).

Mary Ann Hunt was the wife of Rev. William J. Patterson. They purchased 80 acres of the Orphan Asylum Lands near Anson in 1888. In February 1889 they purchased a lot on the northernmost block of what was Anson at that time. In 1890 they moved to Roby in Fisher County and Mary Ann died there in 1891. Patterson then re-married to the widow Roxanna Massey in Anson in January 1892.

William J. Patterson was a preacher and probably pastored (Baptist) churches in both Anson and Roby.

Catherine Hunt was the wife of John S. Patterson. They purchased city property in Anson in 1890 and in 1891. They sold the properties in 1893 when they moved to Hartshorne, I.T.

Any information about these families will be greatly appreciated.
