Shelton and Rayburn families in 1880s

Hello,

Looking for clues as to the origin of the following family:

J.J. SHELTON and Mary RAYBURN 18 Aug 1887 Johnson Co., TX marriage

J.J. should be Jesse James Shelton, also listed in a Farmer's Directory for Cleburne, Johnson County, Texas in 1879.

1900 Census Chickasaw nation, Township 2, District 165

Chas. O. Raybourn head 26 Jan 1874 AL MS AL
Anna A. Raybourn sister 19 Feb 1881 TX MS AL
Jasper D. Raybourn brother 14 May 1886 TX MS AL
Mary E. Shelton mother 50 Aug 1849 AL MS NC
Jesse J. Shelton half-bro 10 Dec 1889 TX MS NC
Wm. R. Shelton half-bro 12 July 1887 TX MS NC

Jasper is Jasper Dean, who went by Dean. William R. is William Rufus, who was born in 1888. The mother's birthplace for the Shelton's is confusing, in 1910 William is in Dean's household and is listed as GA TX GA.

Family legend is that Mary Elizabeth Rayborn may have first married a cousin making Rayburn her maiden name.

Thanks
