The 1900 & 1910 census shows he owns land. Look for land and probate records, find his heirs. By 1920 Addie is a widow.

On Callahan Co, TX GenWeb site -- -- type Simpson in their search feature. First match is for cemetery and lists Addie and Elijah. With his full date of death you could look for an obituary for him. You never know what will pop up in obits. Survivors are often listed and a good way to pick up married names of female members of the family.

From TX Dth Idx 1890-1976 --;p=2;c=1320964;t=searchable -- You can view digitized copy of death record for more details. I don't see one for Elijah. Records weren't kept very well in early days of Texas, maybe you can find it.

Addie Simpson b 22 Feb 1848, Walker Co, GA; d 4 Sep 1925, Baird, Calahan[sic] Co, TX; widowed; buried Bell Plains Cemetery; father J.P. Hallway, b GA; mother elizabeth Martin, b GA; no informant given.

Happy Hunting (^_^)
