For A.B. Prescher
Alvin Benjamin Prescher, 80, resident of Johnson County for the past 35 years, died Sunday at 4:20 p.m. in a local hospital. His home was in the Lone Willow community on Cleburne, Route 2.
A native of Germany, he was born on August 25 1866, and landed in New York in 1882 at the age of 16. He resided in San Antonio, Clifton and Sagerton before coming to Johnson County (Texas) in 1911. He was a member of the Lutheran Church and the Sons of Herman Lodge.
Funeral service will be conducted Tuesday at 3 p.m. at the Crosier-Pearson chapel with Rev. Jones W. Weathers officiating. Pallbearers will be H.C. Custard, W.E. Abbas, R.A. Kilpatrick, H.D. Clicque, W.M. Farmer and Burton Massey, and burial will be in the Rose Hill Cemetery, Cleburne.
Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Mary Prescher (nee Lueck), Cleburne, Route 2; three sons, G.A., J.W., and Lewis A. Prescher, Cleburne, Route 2; five daughters, Mrs. A.B. Weddle, Fort Worth; Mrs. T.L. Vaughn, Dawson; Mrs. A.D. Marritz, Indian Gap; Mrs. D.S. Nix and Mrs. Ida Black, Cleburne, Route 2; 35 grandchildren, and 10 great-grandchildren.
