Suggest you go to http://www.google.com and enter the words "mercurial poisoning" or "mercury poisoning."

The Gulf Coast corner of Texas is known as "Chemical Row." There are many chemical plants there. There are/were probably MANY chances for poisoning of all kinds. Of course, if you find something, you are also probably going to find a big governmental cover-up.

Just a thought: why not contact the Environmental Protection Agency and see what they can tell you?
