Most genealogist say that people rarely went to another place alone, so it is possible that Samuel came with someone else. I sure wish we could find when and where Samuel died. I know it was after 1860 and probably before 1870 as in 1870 my William Cecil Turner (who was 11 years old in 1870) is living in the house with his married sister and I could not find Samuel. I have even thought that maybe he went back to South Carolina and remarried (He wouldn't be too old). I have not thought to look for him in 1880 - he could be there IF he did not really die and was just out of the state when the census was taken.

Take care,

Betty
