I went to the library today and record the name of every Turner head of household for 1830 SC, yes, every one of them. I find a Samuel in Fairfield, Greenville, Spartanburg and York. Find William in Abbeville, Barnwell, Columbia, Fairfield, Greenville, Marion, Spartanburg, Wiliamsburg, York and Charleston. Find a Moses only in Spartanburg. Do you have any suggestions? I can search through each one invidually but it will take me a while, or, do you have access to census records also? Some are on-line via Rootsweb.com and some are the actual images. Also, I found a William C Midkiff, head of household in White Co, Tn for 1830 and 1832. The 1832 is probably a tax roll per the library assistant. Oh, let me not forget that Samuel is also on the 1840 Republic of Texas census per the index and is listed in Jasper. I'm thinking maybe he did not come to Tx alone and maybe a brother or someone may have come with him. The 1840 census for Tx was not available at the library. I'll try the rootsweb and see if it is there and if not will have to go to another library.
