The Gandys and Allens are not my family, but I do have some information on them since I was researching Confederates from Jackson Co. Several of the Gandys were in the CSA.

Many of these people are buried in the Gandy Cemetery in Lavaca Co. The cemetery is not far from the Lavaca/Jackson Co line. It is badly overgrown (unless someone recently cleaned it up).

Nathan Gandy md. 1) Nancy Jane Allen (b. 15 Nov 1847, d. 15 Dec 1877).

Barnabas Pipkin (B.P.) Gandy md. 1) Mary E. Allen (b. 05 Mar 1845, d. 02 Oct 1878) and 2) Helenia M. Allen (b. 01 Dec 1857, d. 02 Apr 1927).

There are several other Gandys and Allens in this cemetery:
Allen, James b. 30 Dec 1859, d. 25 Jan 1882
Allen, Sussan b. 14 May 1826, d. 21 May 1895
Allen, Ethan b. 23 Oct 1853, d. 19 Aug 1911

The Gandys were from Alabama.
