FINDING A DEATH RECORD
Posted by: CAROLYN COUGHLIN Date: July 10, 2000 at 13:52:34

Hope that someone can tell me how to find a death record for a Levi Brawley who died between 1865 and 1870, probably in or around Jack County TX. Levi Brawley and Elizabeth Bunch were married in Jack County TX in Jan 20 1861. Don't know what happened to him. Elizabeth Brawley and 2 children born 1862 and 1865 are on the 1870 Jack County Census but no Levi. Does Jack County TX have death records from that era? If so, how could I search for this man? Since the last child was born in 1865 I have a feeling he did not die in the civil war even tho it was in the time slot....if he was killed in the Civil War, how could I find a record of his death? Thank you for any help at all. Carolyn Coughlin
