Yes, you are correct on Joseph Earheart. He wrote a book on his life that's quite a read on the early cattle drives beginning in Jack County. That's good information to know on Jo Ellen. Thanks for the insight.

Is the Cap Beavert in the 1870 Jack County census who is 28 years old and from Tennessee kin to Larkin. Since you mention that he was a Texas Ranger, I suspect you know that they weren't called "Texas Rangers" until 1901.

During the Civil War, they were called Frontier Regiment, before the Civil War, they were called Frontier Battalion.
