I'm still in the dug out I guess. I can't seem to get to first base or past Lorenda,Lorinda,Lurinda,Lorandy ELAINE/LANE/ERWIN/MOBLEY. She is the mother to my grandfather John Franklin ERWIN b-April 25,1871 Crockett, Houston Co. TX. and d-July 23,1954 in Perrin, Jack Co. TX. Lorenda LANE is the daughter to Wyat/Wyatt LANE b- abt. 1815 in TN. married a Margaret possible HAMMOND, HAMMERS, I've got different names for her.
Now I am told that Lorenda is either half or full blood Cherokee.uuummmmmm, maybe or maybe not....
Does anyone out there know of any LANE Cherokee connection with Wyatt LANE who settled in Houston Co. TX. He is mentioned in my GGG-grandfather Robert ERWIN's will.
I did find a Wyat LANE in census stated he was black and I do know in some cases the Native American was stated as black on the census. This Wyat has several in his household, but they do not list the names of the other members. Is there a way to find the names of the other members ?
I really appreciate any help.
Thank you so much, Nelda
