I have been tracking James F. Taylor's children, b. 1820 TN, through the 1880 Census. I think I have identified most of them.
A Martha Hellingsworth age 29, b.1851 TN, married to Lorenzo Hellingsworth is on this page:
Precinct 2, Jack, Texas 26D
I believe this is a daughter of James F. Taylor age 59 b 1820 TN,who is also listed with wife Lizzie, age 57 and son Jessie age 20 b. MO in: Precinct 2, Jack, Texas 26D
In someones query, there was mentioned a daughter, Caldona Taylor b.1842 d. 1898. If I could find who she married, I would have all of this Taylor family accounted for,at least in 1880.
William M.Taylor b.8 Nov 1841 TN d. 22 Feb 1898 Velma, Chickasaw Nation, Indian Territory.(Stephens Co. Oklahoma) He married Nancy E. Cox about 1865 in Powhatan, Livingston Co. Arkansas. This from someones family history.
Here is where they were buried:
Old Velma Cemetery Stephens County, Oklahoma
They owned a farm in the area, according to a grandaughter, and probably lived on the farm when they died. I would like to get in touch with some of the descendants, I know there are many, and a lot of them were searching their genealogy a few years ago.
This is my cousin-in-laws family, not my own. I was given a manuscript copy, written by his mother. It had a lot of names and dates that helped me find the Taylor family.
