Just found your reply; wasn't notified of it.
My Evans family fanily don;t match; they are in Kerr Co, TX in 1900; & both die there.
As to the Smith family; I still don't have James C. A. & family in 1900. His brother Wm F. is in N MX, Grant Co. I think he was in Tom Green Co (Wm) in 1884 per land records. There was a lot of people who left Uvalde & surrounding that went to West TX then on to N Mx & AZ. The J. W. Scott sound familar; will have to check. The 1880 Census show James Smith's da, Catherine was born abt 1870 as she was 10 yr old, Fannie 4 yrs, Maud 7 yrs, Mignonia 1 yr.
I don't have any marriage records for West Tx counties but can try & check in San Antonio.
