NO Relation...and probably not much help but here goes:

Family trees show no parents for Sam Duncan, and only one child:
Mattie Jane Duncan, b. 1889 Hunt TX, died in Arizona.
(Do not have access to this database, so dates, spouse, etc. are unavailable to me)

Sam & Rebecca m. 18 NOV 1888 Hunt Co, TX
marriage info shows her as Lemmons

1880 Lemons: District 12, Rhea, Tennessee
James Lemons 26 1854 TN
Susan Lemons 28
Rebecca Lemons 9 TN (1871)
William Lemons 7
James Lemons 5
Lemons 1M
Hattie Lemons 3

Assuming Sam was about the same age as Rebecca, then I do find one close match that intrigues me:
District 1, Rhea, Tennessee
Saml. Duncan 55 NC
Elizabeth Duncan 51
Lucinda Duncan 29
Cicero Duncan 23
James Duncan 17
Joel Duncan 14
Amanda Duncan 12
Saml. Duncan 10
(Family trees show children born in GA, AL & TN)
I could find nothing further, for sure, on this family on census. However, there was an entry for them at Rootsweb. You might want to contact the submitter
http://wc.rootsweb.ancestry.com/cgi-bin/igm.cgi?op=GET&db=:1693136&id=I94002937
what interested me too here is that one son, not shown on census ended up in Delta Co, TX, which neighbors Hunt Co...

The other thing I did was a batch search. Go to LDS, do an IGI search on surname Duncan, and use the batch # M592143
This will bring up marriages recorded in Hunt County 1887 - 1895
It can be a way to find relatives..... There were 9 Duncan marriages in the results, and I'm thinking that there is a probability some of these must have been relatives to Sam. Many tho are shown by initials only.

marriages usually took place at the brides locale, so if they met in TN, and her family (or both families) moved to Hunt Co, then it would make sense the marriage took place there.

In 1880 there was only one Duncan in Hunt Co, who was born TN. He was a single man, 35, and a family grocer. By 1900, there were a number of them, and 3 born TN: BO, AJ, and Laura (wife of Clinton, age 19).

Have you checked with the County Clerk there to see if they have records of deaths that far back?
