Thanks for the tip. I have sent ILL requests for the book
"Gettin Started, Howard County's first 25 years", by Joe Pickle, 1980, as well as "Big Spring and Howard County" by Tammy Burrow Schrecengost, 2002. I visited Big Springs a few years ago but at the time was not aware of the Heritage Museum where I would have found the Joe Pickle book and probably much other stuff. I did find lots of info regarding the Boydstun/Boydston family in the newspapers and county records, located the family plot in the Mt. Olivet cemetery, and have since had contact with a couple of the descendants.
