Thank you for pointing the date out. Robert IRWIN was born 1769 and age 66 on the census, so my best calc is 1769, thank you.

Found on
Shelby County Historical Society Museum & Library

http://www.shelbycountytexashistory.org/

Irwin Robert Farmer 66
" Sarah Wife 54
" Ellen Daughter 24
" Martha Daughter 20
" John Son 15
" Charles Son 13
" Sarah Daughter 9

1835 Census of Tenehaw (Shelby County)

They are also on Ancestry.com

Robert IRWIN & Sarah unk is my line, through son John ERWIN married Elizabeth Ann ROOK, their son Charles Fred Erwin married Lorenda LANE, their son my grandfather John Franklin ERWIN married Serena SMITH, their son my father John Kennedy ERWIN married Frances Josephine BROYLES.

In reviewing the 1835 census this a.m., I also found Clinton and Jane RICE...Jane IRWIN is not on the 1835 census with parents Robert & Sarah IRWIN and she being the eldest of the children, I presumed she was married and living elsewhere and now seeing Clinton and Jane on the 1835 Shelby Co. TX census and seeing them on the 1850 census for Houston Co. TX, I would like to believe that this is my Jane that I have been looking for and she was not married to James RICE instead it is Clinton RICE she married and that James is an error in the papers I have.

I also noticed on the same site for the census

1835 Census of Tenehaw (Shelby County) there are census for Native American...does that mean there are separate census for them or that the census I am reading with Robert IRWIN on it are they Native American, I am confused about it.
Thanks to all, Nelda Erwin Conant
