Hi--Have you been to the office at the HCT Historical Society yet? I donated two large books of NEWSPAPER articles with years including 1896-1901 in the volumns...lots of mentions of HARKINS in those two volumns for those particular years shown...even tho sometimes a mentioned name in these books are just records of someone being on a jury or such....but as for those I have recearched-I have found lots of good leads/info in the past for my own lines etc...
These books I donated: Houston County Newspaper Abstracts ~Vol. 1 and 2-were published by the Central Texas Genealogical Society,Inc. c/o Waco-McLennan County Library 1717 Austin Ave, Waco-,Texas 76701--if you are interested to see if they still have copies available for sale...
