The below was passed on to me in a previous post. I am trying to connect a Mrs. L J AVANT marriage to a William C. ADAMS marriage in Houston Co., TX in 1885.

1880 Census Place: Precinct 2, Houston Co., Texas
L. J. WALKER; female; age 41; b.MO; f&m/b MO; farming
Lidda H. AVANT; dau; age 15; b.TX
Jacob D. AVANT; son; age 12; b.TX

Possibly Mrs. L.J. Avant married a Walker and some Walker families might have information on her.... also a L.H. Avant (female) married J.F. Beard? in Houston Co., TX on 1-6-1887. The transcribed version of this marriage record had a question mark after the Beard showing it hard to read. If this is your L.J. Avant's daughter, possibly some of the Beard's in Houston County, TX might have something on your family.
