On the 1860 census for Houston County TX is:
McLEMORE, James; age 52; farmer; b.MS
Mrs.; age 25; housewife; b.TN
Andrew; age 13; b.AL
Cornelia; age 8; female; b.AL
Willie; age 2; female; b.TX

Appears to not be his first wife and James McLemore was in MS, then AL and then TX by 1857/1858.

I did not find James McLemore on the 1880 census.

Then there is another McLemore listed in Houston County 1860 which is probably his son & family.

1860 HOUSTON CO TX census:
McLEMORE, Jno. A.; age 27; merchant/clerk; b.AL
M.H.; age 16; housekeeper; b.TX
E.L.; age 1/3; male; b.TX
HALL, A.C.; age 33; female; b.AL

1880 HOUSTON CO TX census:
McLEMORE, Jno.; w; m; age 46; farmer; b.AL; f/b Tn; m/b AL
Mary; age 26; wife; keeping house; b.TX; f/b MD or MA; m/b AL
Ellen; female; age 14; dau; b.TX
James; age 9; son; b.TX
Ernest; age 5; son; b.TX
HALL, C.A.; female; age 57; mother-in-law; boarder; b.AL; f/b VA; m/b AL

Hope this is some help to you in your research.
