kendron:saw your message posted under denton(message#352 on houston county, texas).i will try to separate my replies by subject so that other interested parties feel free to respond.first thanks for your encouraging inspired me to research further including what i said was too difficult, to wit, studying the mary kinard archives line by line to find the brides.actually it did me some good as i was able to simultaneously check all bennett surname brides ,something on my to do list for a couple of is now clear to me that benjamin goodrum married the robinson sisters long before the inception of the mary turner kinard archives in 1886.parenthetically 1886 is apparently the first year of houston county, texas marriage books, although you need to talk to the clerk's office to confirm this.according to a very recent posting on the goodrum forum by one marty cash benjamin goodrum was born in 1843 and died in 1899.this would put his marriages in the 1860-1870 range, before the above cited records.benjamin is said to be buried in antioch cemetary in houston county,as are many of my relatives.before i forget you really need to read the entries(there are only 240 as opposed to,for example the 8000 bennett family forum entries)on the goodrum forum including in particular #237 of 240 posted only september 2,2001 by one marty cash that lists all children of benjamin and the robinson is interesting to note one child of benjamin franklin good rum and mary robinson is said to have been named barton clark robinson obviously in honor of his grandmother harriet clark robinson and the barton clark you allude to.enough of my blabbering listed below are the goodrum bride marriages between 1886-1917 i spotted:

annie goodrum to hubert whatley 6/19/1913 book 11 @269

deviller goodrum to mr. m. t. ross 12/22/1894 book 3 @430

rebecca goodrum to chester harrelson 3/28/1917 book 12 @420

devilla goodrum to joe lynn 12/24/1896 book 4 @265

i think you will have to rely on relatives to obtain the marriage dates for pre 1886.on the plus side the goodrum family site seems to be pretty active of late so you are likely to find someone who can nail the question.i can get you to the excellent texas archives site that will bring you up to the present on texas marriges starting in the early 1900s. jim bennett (pocono mountains of pennsylvania )u.s.a.)
