In checking the 1870 cencus for Hopkins Co, I find a George Crain (Crane) age 50, S. Carolina, wife Catherine age 49...in 1880 I find the G.N. Crane age 60, S. Carolina.... the F.H. Crane age 25, S. carolina could be a son. Hope this helps a little.
